Izadyar and Students Analyze Water Quality |
A paper by Dr. Anahita Izadyar, professor of chemistry, and co-authored by two undergraduate students, Scout Weatherford and Ezekiel McCain, has been published in the journal Sensors. The article describes a novel reagent-free electrochemical sensor for direct orthophosphate detection in water. The technology has potential applications in portable and real-time water quality monitoring. Their research was supported by the Beck College Seed Grant Program and Faculty Research Grant Programs.

| Post Describes New Paradigm for Safety |
Dr. Jason Post, assistant research professor of geography, made a presentation at the Royal Geographical Society Annual Conference in London. His topic was “Creating Spaces of Safety and Possibility: Defining a New Paradigm of Geographic Thought Through Safety.” His work focused on a critical examination of safety in geography research and describes a new paradigm of geographic thought, focused on incorporating safety throughout the research process.

Clark Recognized by State Publication |
Todd Clark, chief marketing and communications officer, was recently recognized by Arkansas Money & Politics as one of its 2026 “Achievers in Their Forties.” A two-time A-State graduate, Clark leads the university’s marketing, communications and brand strategy efforts and has earned national recognition for his leadership in higher education advancement, including being named a CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Laureate for service to the profession. Nutt and Hester Study Radiation Therapy

An article by Jody Nutt (left), associate professor and clinical coordinator, and Tyler Hester (right), instructor and clinical coordinator, Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences, was published in the most recent issue of the peer-reviewed journal Radiation Therapist. The article, “Overview of Magnetic Resonance-Guided Radiation Therapy,” examines technical considerations, tumor motion and soft tissue distinction, patient immobilization, reduced imaging dose, and future directions of the advanced treatment option.

Medina-Bolivar Presents at Conference |
Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar, professor of plant metabolic engineering, and director, graduate programs in environmental sciences and molecular biosciences, was an invited speaker at the American Council for Medicinally Active Plants (ACMAP) annual conference. Medina-Bolivar’s address highlighted the use of plant hairy root cultures for the sustainable production and discovery of bioactive natural products. The session was hosted by Penn State College of Medicine and supported by the NIH National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
