Hi there,
If you want to waive, upgrade, or downgrade your student health insurance you must take action by September 30.
Why is this important?
NYU requires that all students registered in degree-granting programs maintain health insurance. Therefore, most students are automatically enrolled in and billed for the NYU-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan. If you already have your own health insurance, you can waive the NYU-sponsored plan entirely and have the charge removed from your Bursar bill.
You must waive the NYU-sponsored plan by September 30, otherwise you will remain enrolled and charged for the insurance plan.
What you need to do.
If you want to waive the NYU-sponsored plan and have the charge removed from your Bursar bill, you must complete the online waiver process by September 30.
- To get started, visit www.nyu.edu/health/insurance
- Click the purple button to Waive or Enroll in NYU-sponsored Student Healt Insurance for the Fall 2022 Term
- On the next screen, type “NYU” under Search For Your School
- Follow the instructions to Enroll or Waive
For international students seeking to waive the NYU insurance plan, please go to www.nyu.edu/health/insurance and select your site of study. Scroll down to Waiving the Student Health Insurance Plans. Select How to Waive and follow the instructions for the International Student Waiver Process.
If you want to keep the NYU-sponsored plan, no further action is required. You should have received a notification from the insurance provider, Wellfleet, with information about your plan, benefits, insurance card, and more.
