The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts' Buzz Awards recognize staff and academic professionals to acknowledge service excellence in administrative service, student support, impact on our community, and the spirit of Ivan Allen College. Volunteers Needed: "There's Been Buzz About You" Card Writing Campaign for Newly Admitted Students |
Institute Communications is excited to announce the inaugural “There’s Been Buzz About You” card writing campaign, with the goal of mailing a handwritten welcome card to every student who has been admitted to the Georgia Tech Class of 2028.
To reach our goal of writing nearly 8,000 cards, we need faculty and staff volunteers to sign up to write between 5 and 30 cards to admitted students. Volunteers will be provided with a card, envelope, and suggested messaging. Write your welcome message and return the cards to Institute Communications (Mail Code 0181), who will pay for and apply postage. Cards must be sent by April 10.

Colleen Cox joined the Ivan Allen College as the director of alumni engagement on Jan. 16. A dedicated Georgia Tech alumna, Colleen has extensive experience from roles at Georgia Tech and Emory University.
Outside of work, Colleen enjoys attending Georgia Tech games and events with her husband and friends, traveling, and being involved with the GT Intown Alumni Network.

Tawana Richardson began her role as the new financial manager for the School of Economics on Feb. 1. Tawana brings a wealth of expertise, with 18 years of experience at Georgia State University.
She is excited to learn all there is to know about Georgia Tech, meet new people, and learn new skills. She looks forward to settling into her new role.

Terri Ridgeway joined the Ivan Allen College in January as an administrative professional senior supporting the College administrative officer, associate deans, and staff. She joins the College after many years with Georgia Tech Athletics.
Terri is a true Atlanta native, born and raised. She is told she was a Georgia Tech fan before birth, and shared that she is "beyond thrilled to call the Ivan Allen College her new home."

Tia Williams started Jan. 1 as the new program & operations manager in the School of Modern Languages. Previously, she held the role of an academic program coordinator in the School of Materials Science & Engineering.
Her expertise lies in team supervision, operational streamlining, student information systems, and academic assessments. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
