It is the last week of our Stewardship Campaign, Remembering Why We Give. This week, we challenge you to think about how you will be remembered. Your gifts make an impact! Sumati Thomas shares this story:
Over the past few weeks, I’ve enjoyed hearing the stories from others about "Why We Give". It has made me stop and think about the impact my giving could have. One of the reasons our family loves Parkway Hills is that we constantly see the church touching the lives of those within the church, out in our community, and around the globe.
We love being a part of a church that is so committed to making a difference in people's lives. It might be through giving bread to new visitors, building beds for children sleeping on the floor, or taking the time to sit and talk with teenagers at the Methodist Children's Home. There are times we lift someone up during illness, grief or hardship, other times we share in the celebration of new life, baptism, or confirmation. Everyone person is valued, every circumstance matters.
Maya Angelou said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I support Parkway Hills with my time and gifts because I know that our church will use them to help make people feel welcome, loved, and cared for. I hope you will join me! - Sumati
