The Advent and Christmas Season is such a special time within the life of our faith, and all too often it is here and gone too fast!  We hope to see you in worship each week as we create space each Sunday morning to light candles and make our way to Christmas morning.  We have some wonderful fellowship opportunities as well.  Take a look, mark the date and time, and come enjoy the Advent and Christmas Season with your Parkway Hills family. This is a great season to invite a friend.

This Sunday, December 12: Caroling and Cocoa
Bring a chair, a warm jacket, and join your church family on the lawn at 4:30 pm (weather permitting). Come enjoy Christmas lights, fire pit, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, snacks, fellowship, Children's activities, and singing Christmas carols.

December 17: Bridge
Christmas Party: Escape Room, Dinner, and Dirty Santa! Be on the lookout for an Evite with more info to RSVP. For 5th and 6th graders.

December 17-18: Youth Lock-In 6:00 pm to 9:30 am

December 19: PHUMC Kids
We are planning a Christmas Glow Party for our kids ministry, 4th grade and under, Sunday, December 19th at 5 pm. See Molly Kirk for more info.

Christmas Eve Service of Song, Scripture, Communion and Candles: 4 and 6 pm. We will livestream our 4:00 service to Facebook.

December 26: Carols and Lessons Come early and enjoy some doughnuts and coffee. Feel free to wear those Christmas pajamas!

JANUARY 2: Ring in the New Year by celebrating Epiphany with your church family.

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL DECEMBER 26 OR JANUARY 2. 

PHUMC Yarners created 99 washcloths, 50 reindeer and wreath lapel pins, six afghans, and 50 hats for Philip Messner to give to Leavell Woods United Methodist Church for its outreach to Forest Hill Nursing Home. Great work, Yarners!

Blessing of Kitchen

A blessing of the Education Building Youth Suite Kitchen immediately followed worship Sunday.

Immediately after Caroling and Cocoa Sunday evening, we'll be delivering cookies to spread cheer and  having dinner together at at Papito's; bring money for dinner.

Winter Retreat at Camp Wesley Pines, Jan.15-17. Cost is $150, $50 deposit due today to reserve your spot. We need drivers/chaperones. Sign up here.
Youth Lock-In December 17-18 6pm to 9:30 am. Talk to Geoff and sign up here to bring food and to chaperone.

Prayer Quilt Ministry (off until after the first of the year) meets every Monday from Noon to 3:00. 
Join us in the Garden Multipurpose Room to create beautiful, comforting quilts for children in distress. 
We’ve received reports that some folks are having problems with the new Vanco Mobile app. If you encounter a problem, please follow these steps:
  1. Open the app.
  2. Sign out of the app by going to the three lines in the upper left corner and then choosing “sign out.”
  3. Log back into the app.
This should correct the problem. If it doesn’t, please contact Joe Williams at finance@parkwayhillsumc.org.
