Welcome Back! Let's Prep For Flu Season |
Whether you’re just starting your UChicago journey or returning for another year, we’re here to support your well-being every step of the way to stay balanced, and thrive both on and off campus. Take a look at Student Wellness events and subscribe to our calendar to prioritize your health and wellbeing!
Speaking of which, the flu can spread quickly in close communities, which could lead to missed classes, activities, and time with friends.
Getting a flu shot is one of the easiest and most effective ways to protect yourself and those around you. The vaccine helps reduce your risk of getting sick and lessens the severity if you do catch the flu. Prioritize prevention, it keeps our whole community stronger to tackle the Autumn Quarter.
Flu clinics will be held across campus throughout October.

"My name is Cheyenne, and I am a new graduate student at UChicago. I am getting a master’s at the Crown School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. I worked in Child Welfare before moving and aspire to design and implement better programs for youth in foster care. On top of being a new student, I am also very new to the area, having moved from the warm, sunny state of North Carolina. I just graduated from my undergraduate institution this past May and was a bit afraid of jumping right into a new program, especially on a quarter system, but so far, I have had a pleasant time immersing myself in the culture at UChicago."
"Wellness to me is taking time to uplift yourself. I am a classic overachiever (as I assume most UChicago students are), but I have found the best way to achieve balance is to invest time into my hobbies outside of school. I am an artist who has loved getting to know the Chicago creative scene and a model who hopes to join UChicago’s MODA student organization. Overall, it has been a big adjustment, being in a new city where I didn't know anyone at first, but any event on campus is a way to meet new people and, at the very least, get a free meal :) ."

Our goal is to share the real, unfiltered stories of UChicago students—their challenges, passions, and moments of growth. By highlighting the diverse experiences that make up our campus community, we hope to foster connection, reduce stigma around seeking support, and remind students that no one’s journey looks the same.
