Steven Hubbard joins Wisconsin Forestry Center as new director |
As the new director of the Wisconsin Forestry Center, Steve Hubbard’s number one goal is to position the Center as a national leader in programming for core areas of forestry.
“I am dedicated to serving the needs of Wisconsin’s forestry community by focusing on partner-driven professional development, workforce recruitment and development, applied research, and community outreach initiatives,” Hubbard said.

Dane County Extension offers trainings for anyone who wishes to teach others about home composting, including backyard composting and vermicomposting.
This course is free of charge, can be taken on your own schedule, and covers a variety of subjects relating to at-home composting.

| Blackhawk Island boardwalk completed |
A big thank you to the generous donors and WisCorps volunteers for the funding and work to replace the landing platform and boardwalk on Blackhawk Island at Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center. The improvements increase both accessibility and aesthetics. The landing is now fully operational and programming has resumed.
