Active Learning for Signature Inquiries Two-Part Workshop  
Signature Inquiry courses in the new Miami Plan require active learning approaches, address specific Signature Inquiry topics, facilitate meaningful student inquiry, and demonstrate the synthesis of knowledge in multiple disciplines to engage students in opportunities to meet global challenges. This two-part workshop supports instructors who aim to develop Signature Inquiry assignments and courses. It is highly recommended to attend both sessions. In order to attend the second session, you must attend the first session.

From Scholarly Teaching to SoTL: A Workshop on Presenting and Publishing  
In this two-part workshop we will explore the process for developing a classroom research project into a submission to a scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) conference or journal. In-person only, at 320 Laws Hall. It is highly recommended to attend both sessions. In order to attend the second session, you must attend the first session. (lunch will be served)

Better Student Mentoring: Read the New Journal Issue
A new special issue of the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching focuses on Mentoring for Success: Best Practices to Support Our Students and Colleagues. The issue is guest edited by Miami University’s Claire McLeod (GLG) and Spencer Benson, University of Maryland. "The articles in this special issue of the Journal provide opportunities for reflection, discussion, and consideration of institutional changes with respect to faculty responsibilities and whole person education" (From "A Message From the Guest Editors,” p. 4). Note: The Journal is accessible by all Miami faculty and staff when logged into your Miami account.

With final projects and exams approaching, review strategies for meeting accommodations for students with disabilities in this article from Faculty Focus. In addition, Miami has many resources to support faculty and staff in meeting accommodations through accessible learning experiences.
