ARC Volunteer Day at SoulSpace Farm Sanctuary
Join ARC for a volunteer day at SoulSpace Farm Sanctuary in New Richmond, Wisconsin on Saturday 9/24 from noon to 4:00 p.m. Pitch in on projects and spend quality time getting to know the rescued sanctuary residents as individuals (bring some fruit to share with the animals if you wish). We will be helping to put up fencing and to build coops for a large, recently rescued chicken population. Email chelsea@animalrightscoalition.com if you're interested.

Change Can Happen
The Minnesota State Lottery recently sponsored Extreme Race Day featuring ostrich, zebra, and camel races at Canterbury Park. ARC ran a story in our last e-newsletter asking readers to contact the Lottery, explain why the event exploits animals, and ask the Lottery to stop supporting it. Many caring people wrote and then subsequently received the following from the Lottery: "Thank you for the email about the Lottery's sponsorship of Extreme Race Day at Canterbury Park. Your concerns about the races have been heard and discussed. The Lottery will no longer sponsor Extreme Race Day. We appreciate your feedback about the event." We're so pleased the Lottery chose to stop supporting animal abuse!
