#RooReady for a
Safe Weekend!

C. Mauli Agrawal and Jennifer Lundgren wearing masks on campus

Hello, UMKC community,

With two weeks successfully completed, we are extremely proud of the way our community has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. We attribute our success so far to the discipline our students, faculty and staff have demonstrated in observing health and safety recommendations.
Labor Day weekend offers the next challenge in keeping the pandemic at bay on our campus. If you plan to see friends and family as you enjoy the remaining days of summer, we urge you to do it the #RooReady way – with face masks in place, observing social distancing guidelines, monitoring your hand hygiene and symptoms and avoiding large gatherings and other high-risk situations. We’ve come this far – let’s continue to take care of business so we can enjoy the rest of our semester. We put together a short video with some tips.

In closing, thanks for all you’ve done so far. Continue to stay tuned in to our UMKC coronavirus website for the latest recommendations and notifications. Just in the past week, we have updated our policy on mask wearing. Face shields are no longer allowed as a face covering on campus per new CDC guidelines

Please take extra care over the next few weeks, particularly with regard to personal health. Download the free Campus Screen mobile app to help you track your health, and review our recommendations and policies on monitoring and reporting, and please stay home and contact your health-care provider if you have symptoms or have any concerns about possible exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Let’s continue to show the world that our UMKC family knows how to come back sensibly and strong.
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend.
In this together,
C. Mauli Agrawal, Ph.D.                      Jenny Lundgren, Ph.D.
Chancellor                                           Provost
