Northcentral
In June, Breanne Palmerini will join Brian Conybeare on the evening newscasts at Weigel Broadcasting's ABC affiliate/WBND-LD (Channel 57, South Bend). Ms. Palmerini will co-anchor the 5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm and 11:00pm newscasts on "ABC57" and also be behind the anchor desk for sister CW affiliate WCWW's 10:00pm newscast (Channel 25, South Bend). On top of all that, Ms. Palmerini will also be a reporter. Ms. Palmerini last worked in Detroit, Michigan as a reporter for WXYZ-TV.
Northwest
Bill Christian's Woodland Communications sells ABC affiliate/WPBY-LD (Channel 35, Lafayette) to Michael Reed's Star City Broadcasting for $250,000. WPBY also broadcasts Me-TV on their .2 subchannel and myNetworkTV on their .3 subchannel.
Southwest
Eric Garlick exits as weekend meteorologist at Raycom's NBC affiliate WFIE-TV (Channel 14, Evansville). Mr. Garlick recently joined KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, as a weekend meteorologist.
This Week in Indiana Radio History

April 29: In 1994, WNSN (101.5fm, South Bend) continues their AC format, and reimages as "Sunny 101.5."
April 30: In 2011, Mary Beth Johnson ("Beth Merrell") dies. Age 57. Ms. Johnson worked in Bloomington (WGCL/WTTS) and Kokomo (WWKI, WIOU, WZWZ).
May 1: In 1970, 89.7fm in Howe signs on as WHWE. WHWE signed off and returned their license to the FCC in 2010. In 1982, WSTO (96.1fm, Owensboro, Kentucky) flipped format from beautiful music to CHR. John Trout ("Paul Gregory") did mornings, while Greg Strassell ("Fast Eddie") did nights. In 1985, both WOWO/WGL Chief Engineer Bruce Ratts and legendary radio station owner Don Burden die. Mr. Ratts was 77, while Mr. Burden was 56. In 1988, Rex Schepp dies. Age 91. He was the former GM of then-WIRE(AM). In 2007, 94.1fm, Roanoke became Classical WBNI, after the closing of a $1.75 million sale between Northeast Indiana Public Radio (purchaser) and Summit City Radio Group (seller).
May 5: In 2010, 90.5fm in Crown Point signs on as WRTW and remains so today.

Z96-5 WAZY, a heritage Top 40 station in Lafayette, Indiana and Star City Broadcasting are looking for a full-time Assistant Program Director/Afternoon Drive Host. Duties include:
Hosting an afternoon drive shift live every weekday.
Producing/updating imaging, promos, and liners for use on the station.
Working promotional events and remotes as needed.
Help with music scheduling as needed.
Updating the station’s website and posting on our various social media platforms.
Help develop promotions/contests for the station.
