Our "Rethink Miracles" sermon series is over, but the needs of those living on the margins are not. As you read the words of this final story, please ask God to help you see these and other "faces of grace" through His eyes, and continue to look for ways you can be part of a miracle.
Robert Fowler
There’s a lot of love here at Grace Place. People do care about you and reach out even though you’re on the street. You run across a few here and there – people who walk by you like they’re too good for you – like you got some kind of disease or something.
What keeps me from going to a local church? Actually, the invitation. See, I just feel out of place by myself being homeless and everything. But if I could sit with somebody that’s there, I’d be OK. See, I’m one of those guys who’s got to be invited to things. Otherwise, I just don’t barge in. And unless I hear people go, “Oh, they’re giving free food away”, I ain’t gonna go ask for free food. That’s the way I’ve always thought.
Grace Place adds: Bob has become part of the Galloway family. He volunteers in its Broadcast Ministry and makes coffee for Grace Place. Tune into Galloway’s Worship Service on WAPT and the sounds of the service are brought to you courtesy of Bob Fowler. Bob now works at Katz Wine and Spirits and lives with friends in an apartment in Bellhaven.
WEDNESDAY re:treat
NIGHT

TONIGHT at 5:30 pm!

Tonight's menu is provided by
HIS KITCHEN:
Lasagna, chicken broccoli alfredo, chicken enchiladas, green salad, bread, tea, lemonade, and banana pudding. Kid's Option: Pizza
Same prices as last year: $7 for adults, $4 for children with a $23 family maximum. Pay with cash, check, or, (new this year), by debit or credit card.
BIG NEWS: You can serve His Kitchen meals to your family at home beginning next week!  Order from this link, and pick up your food on Monday, September 18th between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. (It's ready to heat-and-eat right away, or freeze for later.) You solve the hectic-week-night-dinner-dilema, AND all profits from this ministry support the missions of PHUMC!
Please stay after dinner tonight for classes that begin at 6:15 pm. Adults will study Paul's letter to the Philippians, youth will meet in small groups, and there will be programs for children of all ages. In addition, each Wednesday is an opportunity to work on Bunk Beds with Bill Flynn.
Throughout the year, in an effort to get to know my new church family, my husband and I will be hosting quarterly gatherings broken down by the year in which you joined the church. Our first will be Saturday, September 23rd, for those who have joined the church in the past 1 to 5 years. Our home will be open from 6 pm to 10 pm and all those who have joined in the past 1 to 5 years are welcome to come and go and get to know the Flowers family; and to be reminded who else has joined Parkway Hills with you! We will have a taco bar set up, but please bring sides, desserts, and/or drinks to share. You'll be receiving an invitation with all the needed information.
For our future gatherings, we are looking at these months:
January: Those who have joined in the last 6 to 10 years
March: Those who joined in the past 11 to 15 years
May: Founding Members:16 to 20+ years
We may do one more over the summer for those who are unable to make any of the other gatherings, and please know that visitors and regular attenders who are not members are welcome to come to ANY Gathering that is convenient!
I look forward to sharing in this time with you and to getting to know you all better!
Peace in Christ,
Dawn
The second meeting of this new men's ministry group will be held in Ronnie Musgrove's home at 6:00 pm (new time), on Tuesday, September 26th. (It's always on the 4th Tuesday of the month.) At this next meeting, we will share the tap with Father John Bohn of St. Richard's Catholic Church in Jackson. He will discuss the major aspects of Catholicism and some myths/misconceptions about it as well. Join us for a great discussion!

This Sunday begins a new sermon series on Koinonia, studying Paul's letter to the Philippians. Read chapter 1 this week and we'll discover together how to build community and establish koinonia as we continue the story of the church.
