DIVERSITY DIALOGUE: PALESTINE, ISRAEL, AND OUR IDENTITIES
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 12:45 - 1:45 P.M.
BREBEUF JESUIT EFROYMSON AUDITORIUM
For the third installment of this school year's Diversity Dialogue series, we are excited to bring a dialogue that comes as a result of an ongoing partnership with the Indiana Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the Indiana Muslim Advocacy Network (IMAN), and our own Muslim Student Union (MSU) and Jewish Student Union (JSU) groups.
The ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict is one that involves important lessons in history as well as current events. Though far away geographically, it has been a topic of discussion and on the minds of a number of our students. While we do not define it as a religious conflict, it relates especially with the experiences of many of our Jewish and Muslim students at Brebeuf Jesuit.
In this dialogue, student representatives from our JSU and MSU, as well as the directors of the JCRC and IMAN, will take part in a panel discussion moderated by Kayla Storrs, Director of Equity and Inclusion, as well as Beth Franzosa, Religious Studies Faculty Member. They will share their experiences in learning about and discussing the conflict, and lessons about empathy and understanding one another around difficult issues.
All in the Brebeuf Jesuit community are welcome to attend.
