Reminders & Announcements
Move-out is around the corner, and we encourage your student to start planning now. Whether your student may need to find storage solutions or wants to donate items to a good cause, planning ahead helps reduce waste and stress at the end of the academic year. UCSB has partnered with Campus Storage and Storage Scholars to provide moving and storage services for UCSB students.
On April 10, the California Coastal Commission approved the San Benito student housing project following the UC Regents approval in January 2025. The project entails construction of seven new residential buildings at the intersection of Mesa and Stadium Roads to deliver 2,224 new beds by Fall 2027. Follow progress and construction updates.
Changes are coming to Duo Multifactor Authentication (MFA) on May 7th to enhance the security of student information. Students use Duo to securely log in and access many University accounts and systems. Encourage them to check their University email and make sure they have downloaded the Duo Mobile app on their phone.

Resource of the Month: Summer Sessions
Did you know that students who take classes during summer are 30% more likely to graduate on time? In addition, summer offers students opportunities to participate in unique programs and courses that aren’t offered during the academic year.
For UC undergraduates, the fee cap is only 12 units this summer! This means that no matter how many units you register for, you will only be charged unit fees for a maximum of 12 units. This can mean significant savings for students taking a full-time course load.
Additionally, the Summer Session housing application is open for students taking courses during Summer A and B sessions. UCSB Conference & Hospitality Services also offers June Temporary Housing as a bridge between the end of residence hall or apartment contracts and the period when the student’s summer housing becomes available.
