The New York Times has published a damning article in today's paper on what is now coming to light in newly unsealed documents in the lawsuits against the government. It's becoming abundantly clear that all along Treasury and the White House wanted to milk the GSEs for all they were worth, to make sure the GSEs couldn't emerge from the conservatorship as private entities and that they cared nothing for shareholders' property or rights.
