Hi All,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Scott Darling and I have been elected to serve as your new HOA President! My wife Diane and I have two sons, and we’ve lived in the Settlement for over 13 years, residing full time for the last four years. I’ve been on the board for over 2 years and VP most of the last year.
People ask me, why would you want to be President of the Board? Well quite simply, because I believe in the ideal of giving back, but most importantly I LOVE our RVR community.
We are also at a point in time where we have organizational transitions occurring as well as aging infrastructure. We are almost 70% built out, yet we have already seen some amenity capacity issues that we need to carefully manage. As I’ve learned while being on the board and diving into the day to day operations, while things run extremely well, they are much more involved than meets the eye! We will need to continue with executing proper planning, strategic decision-making and supporting a culture of teamwork and togetherness.
Over the coming months, I plan to send out communications to keep you up to date. It’s going to be titled, “A View from the Board”. Upcoming communication topics will include organizational progress updates, how we approach balancing the needs of our community, and an update on our budget process and financial health, to name a few.
At the end of the day, I’d love everyone (just like I do every day), to be able to say “I’m home and I love it” when you pull into RVR.
A special thank you to Ron Rouse for his diligence and care in his term as President as well as to our ongoing volunteer board members, Yvonne Perry (V.P.), Leslie Marcus (Secretary), Todd Richmond (Treasurer) and Jack Gausnell (Member at large). But the most important thank you is to our Interim GM, Lani Kitching, and to all of our staff who graciously serve our community so well.
Thank you for your support and encouragement, you all make this wonderful community what it is!
Sincerely,
Scott Darling
RVRMA Board President
