Tips For Parents To Help With Distance Learning If your child is learning from home all or part of the time, you know this presents both challenges and opportunities. Follow these tips to help make the most of this situation: Provide an environment conducive to learning. Some children may be able to successfully work from the kitchen table, while others will do better in a quieter spot. Figure out what works for your family. Also make sure your home's internet connection is fast enough to accommodate video calls. Encourage physical activity. Since your child will be sitting in front of a computer for long stretches of time, make sure to include breaks in the day to stretch, walk the dog, do jumping jacks — any movement helps! Resist the urge to "pop in" on virtual classes. It's important to respect your child's privacy and that of other students. Stay in contact with teachers. Let them know if your child is having difficulty managing distance learning or staying on task. Contact us if you need to update your home's internet speed to accommodate distance learning.
