| Environmental Engineering
The National Science Foundation’s Environmental Engineering program supports potentially transformative fundamental research that applies scientific and engineering principles to 1) prevent, minimize, or re-use solid, liquid, and gaseous discharges of pollution to soil, water, and air by closing resource loops or through other measures; 2) mitigate the ecological and human-health impacts of such releases by smart/adaptive/reactive amendments or manipulation of the environment, and 3) remediate polluted environments through engineered chemical, biological, and/or geo-physical processes. Integral to achieving these goals is a fundamental understanding of the transport and biogeochemical reactivity of pollutants in the environment.

K-State’s Office of Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research can help you with your Fulbright Student Application |
K-State has a strong history of graduating seniors and graduate students winning the Fulbright U.S. Student Award with 81 winners since 1950. Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research works with students and alumni on submitting applications for this award. A strong application, especially a research-based one, takes substantial preparation. The following sessions welcome students, faculty and staff at any level to learn more about what the U.S. Student Award offers. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. SDUR welcomes referrals of students who might be interested in applying. Feel free to send us a message at sdur@ksu.edu and we will follow up with the student.
The Fulbright offers the opportunity to do one of three things:
1. Study for a master’s degree as described here.
2. Conduct research with an expert in your field as described here.
3. Teach English abroad as described here.
If a student has career aspirations that have an international component, or there is exciting work being done in their field in another country, or they would be interested in sharing the English language and American culture as a teacher for a year, the Fulbright may be a good fit.
Students can learn more about the Fulbright here: https://us.fulbrightonline.org/
