| CyberAICorps Scholarship for Service
The National Science Foundation’s CyberAICorps Scholarship for Service (CyberAI SFS) program welcomes proposals that address AI and cybersecurity education and workforce development. The Innovation Track supports projects that enhance preparation of AI and/or cybersecurity professionals. Projects may expand existing educational opportunities, curricula, degree programs, educational pathways, methods and interventions, and partnerships among institutions of higher education, government, and employers. The Scholarship Track provides funding to academic institutions to award scholarships to students. In return students agree to work in the AI or cybersecurity mission of a government agency for a period at least as long as the scholarship.

BioStabilization Systems
The Department of Health and Human Services, ARPA-H BioStabilization Systems (BoSS) program aims to make the seemingly impossible problem of room temperature biologics possible by pioneering new technologies to produce, store, and ship cells at room temperature, without any need for refrigeration. The program will eliminate deep freeze requirements, paving the way for a new era of efficient and resilient manufacturing and distribution of biologic drugs.

| Partner with K-State Libraries on Systematic Reviews |
K-State Libraries is launching a new evidence synthesis service to help researchers improve the overall quality of systematic reviews.
Evidence synthesis is the systematic process of identifying, selecting and integrating findings from multiple studies on a topic or research question. There are many types of evidence synthesis, including systematic reviews, scoping reviews and meta-analyses, which follow rigorous, standardized methods to reduce bias and increase the trustworthiness of findings.
The evidence synthesis service connects research teams with specially trained librarians who are familiar with conduct guidelines and reporting standards for different types of reviews. Librarians will consult with research teams to develop transparent, replicable and unbiased search strategies that locate all eligible studies. Partnering with librarians on evidence synthesis projects has been correlated to higher quality search strategies.
You can request a consultation by completing the form provided on the evidence synthesis service webpage. Our librarians work with researchers across disciplines at all levels of expertise, including graduate students new to synthesis. Researchers are encouraged to meet with a librarian as early as possible.
If you’re interested in learning more about evidence synthesis methods or want to find materials that can be used in a Canvas course, K-State Libraries offers a subscription to Sage Research Methods. The subscription provides information on the foundations of systematic reviews in text and video formats and is available at no cost to students, faculty and staff.

K-State Libraries’ Open Publishing Exchange offers researchers support |
K-State Libraries has renamed its Center for Scholarly Publishing to the Open Publishing Exchange (OPE), reflecting an expanded mission to support open, affordable and sustainable ways for researchers to share their work.
The new name reflects how the department’s role has grown in response to changes in research funding, publishing costs and federal public-access requirements. OPE supports the publication of journal articles, research data and other scholarly outputs, recognizing them as connected parts of the research process rather than separate activities.
The department works with faculty early in the research and grant-planning process to address data management, publishing options and public-access requirements from the start. This early support can strengthen grant proposals, reduce costs and compliance challenges, and ensure research output can be shared openly and affordably.
OPE also helps the university meet federal public-access requirements, including those outlined in the Nelson Memo. By aligning publishing workflows, repositories and metadata practices, OPE helps make research articles and associated data publicly available on time without placing additional administrative burden on researchers.
OPE works to reduce the rising costs of research dissemination. The department supports low- and no-cost publishing options through platforms such as New Prairie Press and K-State Research Exchange, advises faculty on cost-effective publishing strategies, and collaborates within the Libraries to manage and evaluate library-funded publishing agreements.
In addition, OPE advances textbook affordability through support for open educational resources and alternative textbook models. These efforts help reduce costs for students while maintaining academic quality and faculty control over course materials.

KAWSE ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award |
The KAWSE office’s ADVANCE Distinguished Lecture Series Award awards up to $1200 to tenure-earning faculty from different departments of six partner STEM colleges to invite and bring seminar speakers to campus. The purpose of this series is to encourage tenure-track faculty members (i.e., assistant professors) to make new professional connections. These colleagues may become valuable mentors or research collaborators who can provide advice on manuscripts and grant proposals and may serve as outside references for tenure applications.
Faculty members should send a proposal (no more than 3 pages in length) using the application form by email to KAWSE at kawse@ksu.edu with the subject line “KAWSE ADLS Application.” Proposals will be reviewed by a screening committee. Please find the application form, a sample application, tips for hosting a speaker, and the rubric used by the screening committee on our website.
The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026.
For more information, contact the KAWSE office at kawse@ksu.edu or 785-532-6088.
