Organized Labor Takes to the Field for United Way

On Sunday, August 14, union members, their friends and their families helped United Way of the Capital Region kick off its 2016 fundraising campaign at a Harrisburg Senators game. Hosted by Capital BlueCross and the Harrisburg Region Central Labor Council, this family-friendly event was an outstanding show of support for labor and United Way!

Rob Bair, business manager of IBEW, Local 143, threw out the first pitch and Matt Tiffany of the Big Spring School District Education Association sang the national anthem.

Decked out in their union colors, delegates from the Harrisburg Region Central Labor Council gathered on the field to present campaign endorsements and union treasury gifts to Rae Lynn Cox, United Way of the Capital Region vice president of communications and marketing.

For 74 years, United Way of the Capital Region and organized labor have worked together to has worked to improve the quality of life in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties. Thank you for continuing this legacy and LIVING UNITED!
