Claim Your Unclaimed Checks by September 1
Last month, I announced that my office may have money for you in the form of a check. You can find out if your name is on the list by viewing our unclaimed checks list at www.myorangeclerk.com. By statute, you have until September 1, 2018 to claim the money.

The checks on the list were mailed, but never cashed. There are many reasons this occurs, including if the intended recipient moved away and did not leave a forwarding address, put the check away and forgot about it, and more.

Whether you’re an individual, business, or organization, make sure to view the unclaimed checks list. Our
customers are a priority and I want them to receive the money that is rightfully theirs. That is why every year we go above and beyond to spread the word about our unclaimed checks list.

Circle of Excellence Award - Second Quarter
Congratulations to Thomas Dickey, our Circle of Excellence Leadership Award winner for the second quarter. Tom is the Operations Manager for our Records Management division and our Call Center.
Tom had several nominations, but it was the consistency of what was written about him, not the quantity of nominations, that led to him being selected for the award.

Overwhelmingly, nominators pointed to his superb approach to training and development, which allowed them to be successful in their current role and stretched them to achieve their greatest potential. One nominator commented: “He sees more in us than we see in ourselves and helps us grow our talents, skills, and abilities.”
Tom provides timely feedback that allows his team to learn from mistakes and continue to get better. He engages his staff, keeps them motivated, and reinforces “we all win together.” Additionally, Tom’s respect for his staff was mentioned several times, as was his investment in getting to know them as individuals.
The Circle of Excellence Leadership Award honors management team members based on demonstrating outstanding leadership aligned with our Guiding Principles.
August Star Performer
Congratulations to Mayra Cruz, our Star Performer for the month of August. Mayra is a deputy clerk from our Civil Division. Teammates say she has cultivated a friendly work environment by being both a team player and a leader.

"Mayra has a great amount of knowledge that she is always willing to share," said a colleague. "Mayra’s professionalism speaks volumes of the person she is and the kind of employee all should strive to be. The leadership team knows they can rely on her to get the job done right the first time."
