Clerk Warns of Bogus Court Email Scam
I want to make you aware about an email scam where recipients are sent fake notices and told to appear in court. The emails, which are spoofed to look like an official communication from the Florida Courts E-Filing Authority, tell recipients that they must appear in court the next day at a specified time. The emails instruct recipients to click on an attachment for more information on the court case and the location of the hearing.
Anyone receiving emails like this should proceed with caution. The scammers are likely trying to get recipients to click on the links in order to infiltrate their computers. Consumers should be aware that any official notice of hearing to appear in court will be sent by postal mail from the Clerk of Courts, State Attorney, Public Defender or Judiciary, not by email.
Visit our my eClerk website to search by name or case number to determine if a court appearance is actually required.

Paul C. Perkins Bar Association Surprises the Clerk's Office
The Paul C. Perkins Bar Association hosts an annual scholarship luncheon that brings together the legal community to award scholarships to individuals who have excelled in law school by promoting diversity through the practice and study of law.
I had the honor of attending this year’s luncheon and was shocked by a surprise at the end of the program. Our office was honored with the “Outstanding Organization” Award for supporting the bar association in its outreach efforts. The Clerk’s Office has a longstanding partnership with the Paul C. Perkins Bar through our participation in countless restoration of rights workshops, and other outreach initiatives. We look forward to the continuation of this valuable partnership.

United Way
United Way: A Pledge for the Spirit of Giving
The Clerk's 2017 Live United campaign is officially underway. This year’s campaign runs through the end of September and our office is looking to surpass last year's goal of $25,000 raised.
While there are dozens of organizations that receive support from United Way, one organization that benefits from the United Way is Harbor House of Central Florida. Harbor House is able to provide emergency shelter for domestic abuse victims, assistance with filing court injunctions and a 24/7 emergency hotline. We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Harbor House and with the help of United Way look forward to continuing to serve the community.
Rochelle the June Star Performer
June Star Performer
Congratulations to Rochelle Marrero, who works in our Juvenile Division as a Trial Clerk. She is the Star Performer for the month of June and we certainly understand why.
"Rochelle has gone above and beyond her job duties by exemplifying superior skills in customer service and being an outstanding team player," said a colleague. "She assists our partner agencies with the proper filing of documents and helping them maneuver through the e-filing system."
She is also able to provide on-the-spot operation process details to the Trial Clerks in court, answering the "why" for different scenarios that come up.
