Snow day: choose your fighter

We’re going to be honest, there is a lot going on right now and the only fun things to talk about are the new semester and the snow, so we’ve just added some snow photos between all the announcements to keep us going, mmkay?

Class, we have a new student!

Hello to our 218 new students this semester! We know you’ll love it here. Here’s info about Spring 2021 move-in and don’t forget to complete the student module in Blackboard. If you have any other questions, ask anyone you see because we’re very nice. It’s kind of our thing.
Oh, and this is for everyone: you can get an Ole Miss care package with a mask, sanitizer and health info at the Student Union Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, Jan. 19-21, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Just walk up and grab one. 💙❤️

Have you heard there’s a vaccine? When Ole Miss gets doses, they’ll be offered to eligible people, but we don’t know yet when most college students will be eligible. The university has a vaccination webpage that’ll be updated with news and lots of background info. And if you have other questions, call Student Health at (662) 915-7274. Dr. Jean Gispen at the Health Center also wrote about her experience receiving the vaccine and y’all, she’s the best.

Hopefully this is the last time we say this, but…

Here are the COVID guidelines for the upcoming semester. There are snow photos after this, ok??
Masks and social distancing: still a thing. Everyone should wear a mask in indoor public places on campus, when you’re outside near people and it’s also a good idea to do it anytime you’re outside on campus.
If you’re sick, do not come back to campus yet! Seriously. Call the Health Center if you have COVID and they can help you figure out what to do. For everyone else, use the Daily Symptom Checker to self-monitor your health and report any positive COVID tests to the Health Center.
What about events?! Still a little sticky. Right now, most events protocols are the same as last semester, but that could change after UM looks at asymptomatic testing results over the next few weeks, from Jan. 19-Feb. 19. So the more people who do asymptomatic testing in the next month, the more info the university will have to decide if events can happen. Check your email for testing appointments and here’s the events info page.
And also classes. These videos explain the different class formats, and lots of professors made their own videos about what their classes might look like. Watch the videos and reach out to your professors or get help from the Keep Learning site if you have questions.
