Created by God is not just for our Parkway Hills families. Any 5th or 6th grader and their parents who would benefit from this weekend are welcome. There is a $30 fee to cover food and supplies that can be paid through check, website or through our Vanco app. Contact Jennifer with any questions.

We will be joined in worship by Rev. Erin Hicks. Rev. Erin Hicks is an ordained elder in the Mississippi United Methodist Conference. She’s a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi and Princeton Theological Seminary. Currently, Erin serves as the Manager of Pastoral Care at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Rev. Hicks will be our guest preacher and aid us as we pray for our students and teachers. We will also hand out Kindergarten and 3rd grade Bibles and welcome our new Bridge group (rising 5th and 6th). This is a great Sunday to invite a teacher and/or family to join you for worship.

Promotion Sunday Activities: Kids rising 6th and under will meet in the Garden Room at 9:30 am for doughnuts before heading to their new classes. The fun continues Sunday evening. Rising 6th and under are invited to the Club at the Township from 4 to 6 pm to continue the celebration. Parents must stay.

Youth will enjoy a pool party at the Henry Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Calling all youth parents!

It has been suggested that in place of a Sunday night parent meeting, we gather for about 30 minutes after worship one Sunday. We ask that at least one parent attend, but anyone is welcome to join including your youth. We will have childcare available for younger siblings if needed.
Mark Sunday, August 10, in the youth room, immediately following worship on your calendar. Lunch will be provided. We will go over the calendar, share about the search committee's work, divide up meals and chaperone obligations, and celebrate this great group of young people.

We are excited about our second Adult VBS Monday, August 18: Make Room for Wonder. Rev. Hannah Shempert, pastor at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Cleveland, MS will be our guest speaker. Bring your curiosity, your laughter, your imagination, your sense of play, and let's join together in making room for the wonder of God to meet us right where we are.

This year will be hosted by Wells United Methodist Church. We will meet at Parkway Hills UMC at 8:30 am to carpool. Event is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with lunch included. Wells has their own registration, but we ask that you register through Parkway Hills so we can handle payment and transportation for our group. Cost is $15.

Camp Wesley Pines is one of four United Methodist Camping Ministries supported by the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church. Established in 1961 and located in Gallman, MS, it is a 266 acre campus committed to faith formation, leadership development, creating authentic community, and outdoor appreciation. Parkway Hills has a long history of sending campers each summer and this summer, we have 3 of our college students serving as camp counselors.
