We’re entering a major season of change at UC San Diego. It's important to make sure these campuswide changes are correctly reflected on our websites. Use the search tools that your site visitors use: Your built-in site search, and search engines like google.com.
When using a search engine, include this text to limit the results to your site: site:yoursite.ucsd.edu
Focus your results by using quotation marks. The search results will use exactly that string of words, as in: "schedule of classes"
We’ve also set up Shared Policies inside Siteimprove to help find references to terms and links that are changing this summer. Learn how to use our shared Siteimprove policies to find pages that need to be updated.
If you’ve found a search option in the CMS, do NOT use it. It searches not just what your site visitors can see, but also back-end content, like file names. It can be unreliable and cause glitches that are difficult to back out of.
