Announcing two new university policies |
A university policy for minors on campus has been developed to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals, particularly younger visitors who may not be familiar with campus environments. Such a policy helps to establish clear guidelines for supervision, access and conduct, minimizing risks and ensuring that minors can participate in educational and recreational activities safely. It also protects the university by clearly outlining responsibilities and expectations for both the institution and those bringing minors onto campus. Please note that any event which is sponsored by Radford University or occurs on campus and uses university housing and facilities will need to be approved by Conference Services.
Last year, many public universities in Virginia experienced protests by students, faculty, staff and community members on their grounds. These events highlighted the need for more specific policies to guide universities in effective response practices. In response, the Office of the Attorney General reviewed policies across Virginia universities and compiled a set of ‘best practices,’ which all institutions have been asked to adopt before this fall semester. To comply with these recommendations, Radford University developed the Face Concealment Policy, aligning with existing Virginia law but tailored to our university context. This policy applies to everyone on campus, including students, employees and visitors.
Both new policies can be found on the University Policies Webpage.

Bookstore services for Radford University Carilion and Roanoke Higher Education Center students |
Bookstore services for Radford University at Carilion (RUC) and the Roanoke Higher Education Center (RHEC) will be changing for the upcoming academic year. The bookstore, previously located at the RUC site, will no longer be open.
In lieu of the physical bookstore, students can access the OneCampus portal to view and purchase the books/materials that are specified for their classes.
Please let students know the following details about services previously available through the bookstore.
-
Financial Aid: Purchases made with financial aid vouchers are integrated into the OneCampus system. Students will be connected directly to the university’s bookstore website via the “View Books by Term” feature to finalize their transactions. For purchases not utilizing financial aid, students will have the ability to go directly to the university’s bookstore website to view materials and place orders.
-
Deliveries: Book orders will be delivered to the Radford main campus bookstore and will then be shipped directly to RUC and RHEC students. Standard ground shipping to Virginia addresses is one day. Orders will be shipped to the address listed on the order when placed by the student. Therefore, it is very important to make sure the address listed on the order is where the order is to be shipped.
- Rentals: Students may initiate book rentals from either “View Books by Term” or from the bookstore website. Rental books will be shipped to the address listed when the order is placed. At the end of the rental period, books are to be returned to the Radford main campus bookstore either by student drop-off or by shipment, using the designated return shipping label contained in the rental agreement.
-
Scrubs: For scrubs needed for health professions, dates for in-person order placement and sizing will be announced for each group. Students will then be able to place the order for scrubs for their program. Payments will be processed via the bookstore website or point-of-sale system at the time of order placement.

In the meantime, please remember to submit requests for web edits in the following manner.
-
Urgent edits: This includes inaccurate program content that could mislead current students or prospective students in their decision-making process. It also includes fixing content that does not accurately reflect the university’s legal standing or accreditation status. Urgent changes should be submitted via email to webcomm@radford.edu.
- Normal edits: This includes any other content edits that do not meet the urgent standard stated above. Normal changes should be submitted via a Get Help ticket on ITOneStop.
