Lucy Sarkissian ‘23 started her own company – Cupcakes 4 Change – this summer during the pandemic as a platform to share her story and encourage others.

See You at the PoleOn Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 a.m. all students are invited to gather at the flagpole for See You at the Pole. This is a national day for students to gather at their school flagpole and pray for their school, community, state, and nation. We will also have worship music and take some time to praise God together!

Valor Club FairInterested in joining a club? Attend the annual Valor Club Fair on Tuesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 24 during both A & B lunches. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about all the extracurricular clubs on campus and find one that interests them.

Test of RAVE Emergency Alert SystemParents, you will receive a test of the Rave Emergency Alert System on Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m. via text, phone call, and email. You do not need to do anything other than contact Tige Watson if you do not receive the test. You can update your contact information for these alerts by contacting the registrar at 303-471-3000. Welcome New Head Girls Lacrosse CoachValor Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Terry Ellis as our new Head Girls Lacrosse Coach. Coach Ellis played on three Final Four teams at the University of Denver before being drafted into the National Lacrosse League by the Colorado Mammoth and Major League Lacrosse by the Denver Outlaws, where he won the MLL Championship in 2014. Upcoming College FairsChristian College Fair of Colorado: September 21-24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and September 23 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m at various locations in the Denver area. Pre-registration is required for this free, in-person event with more than 60 college and universities represented.
NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) Virtual College Fair: Sunday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Students will have an opportunity to connect with a large variety of colleges and universities throughout the day. View schools, schedules, and register here.

Dual Credit with Colorado Christian UniversityMany of our courses at Valor have been approved for dual credit with Colorado Christian University. Dual Credit provides the opportunity to earn college credit while taking one or more of our classes. Students can have the advantage of getting a head start on their college education requirements while in high school. Please refer to our approved courses for college credit, and visit CCU’s dual credit page for more information and to register.

ACT, SAT, and PSAT Testing InformationAs a reminder, all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take the PSAT at Valor on October 14. You can also review the most up to date information on the status of ACT and SAT testing. Please be sure to consult with your student’s Valor Academic and College Counselor regarding testing timeline and process.

Save the Date - Parent Enrichment WebinarOn October 10 at 9:00 am, Social-Emotional Services Coordinators Lindsey Ervin and David Milton will host a live webinar for parents titled “Families of Strength”. Parent Connection GroupsValor Business Network: Parents from all businesses are invited for a time of connection and networking. We will kick off on September 30 at Highland Heritage Park, 9651 S Quebec St, Highlands Ranch in Shelter A at 8:30 a.m.
The first speaker will be Josh Disbrow, Valor dad and co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Aytu BioScience, Inc. See the scheduled meeting dates for the entire 2020-2021 school year here.

Moms Morning Bible Study: This group meets on Thursdays from 8:30-10:00 a.m. All moms are invited to join this community at Highland Heritage Park, 9651 S Quebec St, Highlands Ranch in Shelter A. A Zoom meeting notice will go out during inclement weather so you won’t have to miss a week.
Moms Evening Bible Study: We kick off this week on Monday, September 14 at 6:45 p.m. at The Hub, 8827 Lone Tree Pkwy, Lone Tree. All moms are invited.
