Dear Friends,
We hope you are enjoying this lovely Spring weather we are having in Michigan, and that you have been able to reconnect with family and friends as the vaccine is now widely available and our pandemic numbers are abating.
We look forward to a busy Fall with on campus classes, in person events, and the opportunity to communicate more directly with each of you.
In the interim, please visit the Halal Metropolis installation, now on display in Ann Arbor. And reach out to us if you or a group you represent would like a private viewing.
Join us for a Gallery Talk on Thursday featuring campus activists from the University of Michigan.
Check out the recent book released by our colleague Rose Wellman.
Stay tuned for the release of the Seen Jeem podcast.
Reach out to us with your ideas for programming, research, and teaching.
And see our faculty statement about the recent violeince in Palestine, and the Arab American Studies Association's statement, which includes many helpful resources. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Best wishes,
Sally Howell
