CABINET LETTER FROM LEO LOPOZ

Hello Spartan Nation!
I am writing this letter following another successful Homecoming Week that included many events for our students and culminated with a great football game, two dances, and the 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame. The enthusiasm and Spartan spirit that was witnessed by so many reminded me that we are blessed to be part of an incredible community where we can all feel part of something bigger than ourselves. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped continue the tradition of this truly special week for our community.
I am often asked what makes De La Salle athletics so special. There are many factors that I believe contribute to the excellence that student-athletes experience at Winton Drive. The foundation to success (on and off the field of play) starts and ends with our department’s vision statement. The De La Salle Athletic Department offers an educational athletic program that is student-centered and focused on academics, athletics, Catholic faith, and service. In collaboration with our community, coaches strive to teach both skills and life lessons to our students so that they can graduate as men of faith, integrity, and scholarship. The journey is never easy, and the commitment to being the best we can be is a daunting challenge that we accept and embrace every day.

Get ready! De La Salle Giving Week is October 23-27!
Each year, you, our treasured community, are asked to invest in what we do here on Winton Drive. During Giving Week, we showcase how, through your gifts, we are able to make a significant difference in the lives of our Spartans. Each day, we share examples of how your hard-earned dollars help Spartans SHINE in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, and more.
We hope you will tune in to see our Spartans Shine as well as give your support during this life-changing week. Or, you can get a head start by donating today!

Do you know any 8th-grade families that might be interested in De La Salle for their son? If so, there are three great events where prospective Spartans can get a feel for our school.
Next Thursday, De La Salle will hold One Night Only, a behind-the-scenes visual and performing arts interactive workshop for artistic middle schoolers. Then, on November 8 and November 9, there will be two more Spartan for a Day events. (This is a shadow program where future students get to experience what it is like to go to De La Salle). Last, we invite all interested families to join us at our Open House on Sunday, November 5.
For more information, visit De La Salle Admissions or email admissions@dlshs.org.
