We are seeking your nominations for the fourth annual Research Administrator Awards to recognize two University Staff in the field of research administration. A research administrator supports principal investigators in achieving their research goals and ensure funders’ regulations are followed at any point of the project from proposal development to close-out to intellectual property management. Even in this current crisis, research administrators are there to help you manage your grant process. I encourage you to nominate a staff member whose contributions deserve recognition. There are two categories: Rookie Research Administrator and Outstanding Research Administrator.
The Rookie Research Administrator award is open to any full-time staff member who has at least 6 months to no more than 3 years of consecutive service in a research support capacity with UT Austin at the time of award. Faculty, research assistants, and other research personnel who are major contributors to the conduct of research are not eligible.
The Outstanding Research Administrator award is open to any full-time staff member who has at least 3 years of consecutive service in a research support capacity with UT Austin at the time of award. Faculty, research assistants, and other research personnel who are major contributors to the conduct of research are not eligible.
To nominate a research administrator for one of the two categories, submit your nomination:
Any staff, faculty, or student can nominate ONE eligible staff member for each award. An individual may receive multiple nominations. Nominations will be accepted beginning Friday, May 15, 2020, and are due by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Each awardee will receive a framed certificate and $500 prize (via UT Payroll). The awards will be presented by at the Tuesday, September 22, 2020, meeting of the Association of Research Administrators.
