IUP Scholars Forum Returns
Are you an undergraduate student curious about research, developing skills to help you succeed in your future graduate studies or career, or presenting original research or creative projects in a low-stakes professional setting?
The School of Graduate Studies and Research is excited to announce the IUP Scholars Forum, the major event of our annual Research Week! Join us Wednesday, April 6, in the KCAC for this in-person event.
No previous experience? No worries! There are tips on writing an abstract on the IUP Scholars Forum website, as well as information on how to create a podium or poster presentation via a workshop hosted by the Kathleen Jones Writing Center on Wednesday, March 2, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Abstracts are due Friday, March 4. Submit yours at InfoReady Review. For more information, email Andrea Palmiotto at apalmiot@iup.edu or stop by the Office of Undergraduate Research.

Identify 10 experiences, habits, and people in your life that support you in becoming the best version of yourself. Reflect on your list and refer to it when you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Remember what you have accomplished, the strength you have demonstrated to move forward, and the people you can turn to for help.

How Can I Find Out How I’m Doing in My Classes So Far?
You can view your mid-term grades beginning on Monday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m. via MyIUP. If you are concerned about your mid-term grades, you should reach out to your instructor. You can also email universitycollege-inquiry@iup.edu.

IUP Basketball Senior Day
The women’s and men’s basketball programs celebrate Senior Day this Saturday, February 26, as the Hawks host Pitt-Johnstown in the regular-season finale starting at 1:00 p.m. at the KCAC. Both teams look to take momentum into next week’s PSAC tournament.

Participate in #IUPLeads and Earn Money for Your Student Organizations!The Division of Student Affairs is sponsoring the #IUPLeads campaign! Interested student groups and organizations have the chance to win up to $250 by participating in the campaign. Interested groups should register on Crimson Connect by Tuesday, March 22. Participants will:
- Sign up and attend either a Green Bandana Project or Green Dot Training.
- Post 10 times on the group’s social media channel with stress relief, mental health awareness, or alcohol safety tips.
- Decorate a window in Folger Student Center.

Music Improves Your Well-Being
Did you know that you can improve your sense of well-being by singing, playing, or listening to music? Research indicates that music can lead to more pawsitivity! Give it a try at Open Mic Night on Mondays at 8:15 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room. Free and open to all!

Salary Negotiation
Salary negotiation can be tricky, but with the right knowledge and preparation, you can learn to handle them with ease. Wait until after the job is offered to start the salary discussion. Begin with excitement and suggest realistic ideas—ask for 5–10 percent more than the average; but also be willing to compromise.

In need of service hours for an organization, honors membership, or another program? Stop by the Community Involvement Fair on Tuesday, March 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room. There, you can meet with nearly 20 community organizations offering volunteer hours.
