I want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate Metro South CID’s milestone anniversary with us at Shadowbox Studios earlier this month. We appreciate each of our partners, members, business owners, elected officials and community members who make it possible for us to better our district.
It truly was a treat to be able to host our gathering at a prestigious film studio, and we’d like to extend our gratitude to Jeff Weber, Shadowbox Studios’ chief development officer, for allowing us into the soundstage and getting a “peek behind the curtain.” The Shadowbox team was very accommodating and helped make the event run seamlessly.
We’re so glad that Lt. Governor Burt Jones was able to take time out of his busy schedule to stop in to say a few words of congratulations. And as always, I am eternally grateful to DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and Commissioner Nicole Massiah along with their offices for their continued support in improving the district’s infrastructure and security. We value our relationships with government officials and community leaders and couldn’t do what we do without them.
The 10th Anniversary Celebration was also the perfect time to recognize two of our tireless board members. Our executive director emeritus, John Kranjc, continues his service to the board as a nonvoting member and devotes his time to keeping us organized and on track. Rob Roark’s contributions to the board go beyond his time and energy as he has donated space in his business, Allsouth Warehouse, to the CID for its daily operations and meetings. Metro South benefits from John’s and Rob’s hard work and generosity along with the rest of the board.
We couldn’t ask for a better first decade, and look forward to many more improvements, milestones and successes to come.
Larry Kaiser, Metro South CID Executive Director
