Dear Fellow Denison Alums,
December Greetings! I am honored to join the Denison Alumni Council when our esteemed alma mater faces such demanding times.
I’ve been impressed to learn about the approach Dr. Weinberg and the administration, faculty, staff, and students have undertaken to conduct a successful fall semester back on the Hill. Thanks to all for their remarkably hard work, and congratulations on making this happen.
What a year it has been. In my quest to look at the bright side of 2020, one of the greatest highlights for me has been to reconnect with Denison alums on Zoom throughout the pandemic. I’ve enjoyed chats with sophomore Shaw Hall suitemates and former Denison Singers, including our venerable conductor, Dr. William Osborne. I’ve joined numerous happy hours with dear old friends from my sorority and adopted fraternity. And I’ve attended online events for Denison alumni, including a presentation by Dr. Paul Djupe about the political polls. I’ve even participated in virtual readings featuring Denison faculty authors and hosted by my daughter, a recent Denison alum working at an independent bookstore.
These connections have meant the world to me in such strenuous times, and I hope you will find strength through your association with Denison, as well.
Here’s to a brighter 2021. Here’s to staying in touch with old friends and the gift of the Denison family.
