Golf for the Eagles

On May 11, enjoy a round of golf at the beautiful Colorado Golf Club while supporting Valor Athletics. Proceeds from this annual tournament go towards facilities and program improvements enjoyed by all student-athletes.

DECA Wraps Up State Competition

Last weekend, 96 Valor students competed at the DECA State Championships in Colorado Springs. Their hard work was on display as they presented written projects and role played real-world business situations.
In all, 7 of our students were crowned state champions and Valor received 32 qualifying slots to the international competition in Nashville, TN in late April. We are so proud of all of our DECA students!

A Place for Prayer Requests

Stop by the Academic Building Main Lobby to see our new box specifically for prayer requests. The box is located on the wall directly to the left of the front desk.
Write down your request and drop it off anytime to be read and prayed for by the Valor Prayer Team. All requests are confidential.

There's something for everyone during Practicum Week (March 23-27). Check out a couple more options and sign up before the March 6 deadline!
  • Creative Self Care (March 23-25): Have fun with goofy goat yoga, get out of the same old same old hairstyle rut and learn tips from a professional, and practice new spiritual rhythms that will enrich your overall health.
  • Improvapalooza (March 24-26): Come learn the tricks of the comedy world, develop skills of thinking fast on your feet, and get a chance to laugh through a variety of short-form improv games as well as long-form exercises.

Parent QPR Training Session

Parents are invited to the spring QRR training session on Wednesday, March 2 from 6:45-8:00 pm. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer - three steps that anyone can learn to begin a conversation with someone who they believe could be at risk for suicidal behavior.
All parents are welcome, but senior parents are especially encouraged to attend as their students will be receiving QPR training in class this week as well.

Course Request Week March 9-12

Returning students (current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors) will submit their course requests for the 2020-2021 school year the week of March 9-12 in the Counseling office. Here is more information and instructions about the course selection process. Sophomores and juniors may contact their Academic & College Counselor with questions and also communicate with their current teachers.
Current freshmen (rising sophomores) will attend a presentation during their Seminar class this week on Tuesday or Wednesday with the Academic and College Counselors who will discuss the course requirements and options for next year. 9th Grade Seminar Teachers are also available to answer questions. 

Parent Apologetics Class

Sign up to join the Valor Parents Apologetics Course taught by Bible teacher Lane Palmer on April 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 6:45-8:00 pm in the Valor Center Upper Lobby.
This course will explore the evidential/historical basis of the Christian faith and practice researched techniques that allow us to be adherent to the Biblical injunction to "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15).

Discovery Night of Worship and Prayer

Join Discovery staff, leaders and students at the third-annual Discovery Night of Worship and Prayer on the evening of Sunday, March 8. We will gather in the small gym to worship together and pray for Valor, students, and Discovery teams and ministries. Please email Jennifer Gribble with questions.

Summer School Registration Open

Valor offers a variety of summer school options, giving students the opportunity to explore areas of interest and possibly add free time to a busy school year schedule by completing a required course over the summer. Learn more and register for summer school courses.

Donate to After Prom

Valor After Prom is a safe event sponsored by Valor and the Valor Parents Association (VPA). This year, After Prom will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Boondocks. If you would like to make a contribution to the collection of prizes that will be awarded to students throughout the night, sign up here
All contributions can be left at the Valor front desk at any time (please label them After Prom Committee).

VPA Board Meeting Open to All Parents

All parents are welcome to attend the VPA Board meeting on Wednesday, March 11 from 12:45 am-2:15 pm in the Valor Center Upper Lobby.

Youth Summer Camp Registration

Registration for 2020 Valor Arts Summer Camps for elementary and middle school students is now open! Choose from options like ceramics, drawing and painting, piano, photography, and more.

Hockey

Valor Hockey battled to a 3-0 victory over Pine Creek on Saturday night to advance to the Frozen Four. They will play this Friday, March 6 at 5:00 pm at the Pepsi Center. Come cheer on the Eagles in their push for a state title!

Boys and Girls Basketball

The lady Eagles earned a decisive 91-30 victory over Far Northeast in order to advance to the Sweet Sixteen round of the state playoffs. They will host Rangeview on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 pm.
Boys basketball edged out Rocky Mountain 65-61 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. They will host Eaglecrest at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4.
