What a summer so far! I hope you are enjoying time with your family and friends. Although our students are home, campus is a busy place as building projects continue while faculty and staff prepare to welcome our Villanovans back to campus in August.
With under a month until students return to campus, here's some information to review, place on the calendar and discuss with your Villanovan. We can't wait to welcome everyone back to campus!
Warmly,
Carita Geib '98, P'26

Each fall, families are invited to campus for a weekend to spend time with their loved ones, connect with other families, experience the energy on campus and hear about the wonderful things happening at the University. With a wide variety of events planned, we hope you will consider joining us for some or all of the events planned throughout the weekend!
At this time, the Family Weekend schedule is being finalized, but you can begin planning. This year, events will begin the evening of Friday, September 22 and will conclude around noon on Sunday, September 24 after the Family Weekend Mass celebrated by University president Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD. Some events will require advance ticket purchase; registration for these events will take place later in August. Please continue to visit the Parent and Family page for up-to-date information and follow us on Instagram @villanovaparentandfamily for more information.

The Fall 2023 Student Involvement Fair will take place on Friday, August 25, from 4-7 p.m. on Mendel Field. Encourage your Villanovan to stop by and meet leaders from more than 200 student organizations and programs at the University—this is a great opportunity for new and returning students to become involved in co-curricular activities, explore their interests and cultivate their passions on campus!
The Office of Student Involvement also has a robust calendar of events—take a look at what is planned as students return to campus—and remind your Villanovan to check the calendar frequently for additions and updates to the lineup!

Making the Most of Summer with the Career Center |
|
|
Summer can be a great time to consider careers and internships. The Career Center is available to help students with a variety of activity! Leading up to the Fall Career Fair on Thursday, September 7, encourage your Villanovan to:
|
|
|
-
Make an appointment with a Career Center Counselor using Handshake.
-
Update their resume by adding projects, part-time employment, study abroad programs and summer internships. Students can have it reviewed by a career counselor over the summer so it’s ready before the semester starts.
-
Explore how different majors relate to careers by taking Focus2 online, which combines self-assessment, career and major exploration, decision making and action planning.
- Connect with alumni to learn more about different career paths through NovaNetwork.
-
Research graduate school options. Students can set up an appointment with a Career Counselor in Handshake (Pre-Law and Pre-Health advising is available) to begin the process.
- Check in with one of our Industry Advisors by scheduling an appointment in Handshake. Villanova's Industry Advisors provide industry-specific career support to students within a particular company or sector.
