Dance For Health

It's not too late to join Dance For Health, a hybrid dance program open to both youths and adults! The class takes place in person every Thursday, 5:30 PM-7:00 PM. For more information, scan the QR code or email danceforhealth@nursing.upenn.edu!

Spiral Q presents the 21st Annual Peoplehood Parade

Saturday November 6th at 1 PM
Parade from 50th and Walnut to 45th and Kingsessing
Peoplehood is a parade from the Paul Robeson House to Clark Park that celebrates and lifts up PEOPLE - particularly those living in and working against oppression. Organizations, activists, families, and neighbors join together to represent who they are and what they stand for parading with art they've made, as themselves, or joining the art of other folks.
Spiral Q invites activist and community groups to sign up to represent in the parade and individuals to drop in and join. For more information on how to join email community@spiralq.org!

Propel America

Happy to announce an opportunity for the recent high school grads in your community and network who are looking to gain skills and enter the workforce quickly, all while earning college credits.


Propel America could be the perfect route to a well-paying job and opportunities for advancement. Their program offers recent high school graduates (18-24) a space to learn important career skills and train for a career as a medical assistant within 6 months.

At the end of that training, they are guaranteed a job interview with Penn Medicine. Accepted students who go through their program pay zero tuition and they receive 30 quarter hour college credits and a stipend to cover some costs incurred while studying.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
·  Attend an info session (required) by November 29
·  Applications close: December 6
·  Propel orientation: Week of January 3 & 10
·  College orientation: January 11
·  Coursework begins: January 18

WPSI Recruiting Patient Services Associate

Who should apply?
Compassionate, patient-focused, and computer-proficient individuals with experience in customer service. Experience working in a call-center is a plus. Commitment to the full training schedule (below) is required:
- Facilitated group conversations via Zoom, Mon - Fri, 9 AM - 12 PM, 11/29 - 12/20
- Additional one-on-one and small group virtual meetings several times a week between 1 PM – 3 PM
- Approximately 2 hours of daily reading and reflection exercises
This is a virtual program, so consistent access to a laptop or desktop computer, broadband internet, a webcam, and a word processing program like Microsoft Word, Google Documents, or similar are required to complete the training.

In this program, they offer:
- Cutting-edge job connection strategies resulting in 97% of graduates finding employment.
- A $150 weekly stipend while in training at WPSI.
- The opportunity to interview for open, full-time Patient Services Associate positions at a Penn Medicine call center starting at $15.99/hr.
