As winter sets in, many people around the world are turning to the Danish concept of hygge to find comfort and joy during the colder months. Hygge, pronounced “hoo-gah,” is all about creating a cozy, warm atmosphere and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
In a recent article, it was suggested that one can turn to Rooibos in an effort to embrace the concept of hygge. Rooibos is known for its rich, earthy flavour and numerous health benefits. Rooibos also offers a sense of warmth and well-being with every sip, which fits perfectly with the hygge lifestyle.
Adele du Toit, spokesperson for the SA Rooibos Council, emphasises the synergy between Rooibos and hygge. “Rooibos is more than just a drink, it’s a ritual of relaxation and mindfulness. Its natural sweetness and depth of flavour make it a perfect companion for those seeking to create a hygge-inspired environment. Whether you’re reading a book by the fire or sharing stories with loved ones, a cup of Rooibos adds to the sense of comfort and contentment.”
