- New Classroom Building
UCSB has not had a new classroom building since 1967, and now, that is finally going to change as work has begun on getting this project started. Student Resource Spotlight
| |
UCSB Basic Needs was created to address the housing and food insecurity of the campus population by directing students to appropriate campus and local resources. Since 2017, they have expanded to include financial assistance and well-being resources. If a student is having issues with food security, they have several options provided by Basic Needs, including campus food pantries, a staff of CalFresh advocates to help with the application process, a cooking program, and a directory of where to receive free hot meals throughout the week. For housing resources, emergency and transitional housing is provided along with directories to affordable housing listings. Under financial resources, Basic Needs provides assistance through the Financial Crisis Team, the Community Financial Fund, and Emergency Loans and Grants.
Basics Needs Advocates are available online and in-person at the Student Needs Advising Center in the University Center during their drop-in hours:
- Mondays: 11:30am- 6:00pm,
- Tuesdays,Wednesdays,Thursdays: 10:00am-6:00pm
- Fridays: 10:00am-5:00pm
For more information or to make an appointment, visit the Basic Needs website or contact them at 1-805-893-2786 or thrive@ucsb.edu.
