Everyone at the Academic Advising Center (AAC) would like to welcome you to Duke University. We are delighted that you are joining us and look forward to working with you.

The AAC oversees academic advising for first-year and sophomore Trinity College students. We're excited to work with you this summer to help you begin thinking about your overall educational goals, including choosing your fall semester classes. Check out our Incoming Students page, which includes tips for your first semester, how to choose courses, and determining appropriate course placement prior to registration.

Our office will send periodic emails throughout the summer with timely reminders and resources related to advising and preparing for the fall semester.

May 25: Deadline to complete FOCUS Application (if applicable).

June 2: Access to DukeHub opens. You can begin looking at fall classes, answer the First-Year Questions, and start adding courses to your shopping cart. Use the Class Search Help Guide to learn how to search for classes.

June 17: Deadline to complete Constellations Matching Form (if applicable).

July 30: Registration for fall classes.

July 31 (at 12:01 AM) - September 5: Drop/add period. You can make changes to your schedule throughout the summer.

Remember that you must submit your official AP, IB, or IPC test credit scores in order to use them for placement.

Join us on July 8 at 4:00 PM EDT for a webinar hosted by New Student & Family Programs office and the AAC, to learn about advising in Trinity College and have your advising questions answered.

Trinity students must complete one of two, first-year experiences: FOCUS or Constellations. In early June, all Trinity students who are not in FOCUS will receive an email with instructions for completing the Constellations Matching Form. This will give you an opportunity to share your interests before you are matched to a Constellation.

The deadline to complete the form is June 17. You can access the form in DukeHub beginning June 2, and matches will be announced on July 7. For questions, please contact constellations@duke.edu.

Constellations and the Office of New Student & Family Programs are hosting a webinar on June 3 at 4:00 PM. Join to learn about the matching process, the integrated Writing 120 courses, and to have your questions answered.
