As a kind reminder, please keep wildlife safety in mind when hanging lights and decorations this holiday season. Consider wrapping lights and decorations tightly around posts and trees. Hanging lights should be at least 6 feet off the ground and fastened at the ends. It is also helpful to avoid draping lights around bushes or on trees. Thank you for doing your part to keep our local wildlife safe!

Tom's Door Holiday Giving Program |
|
|
Tom's Door, the Family Resource Center and Carbondale Senior Housing, in conjunction with RVR, are again partnering for our 8th annual holiday gift drive for Carbondale Seniors and unaccompanied youth at local high schools to ensure a bright holiday season. Over the last seven years, we have experienced a generous outpouring of contributions. We invited you to participate again in this year's program to share the magic of the holiday season.
If you wish to get involved, visit the RVR Ranch House and choose a key from the wreath on the festive red Tom's Christmas door. Please complete the donor key tag with your contact information and place that tag in the door's mail slot. There are several gift card options including City Market, Target and Wal Mart. Our suggested donation is $50. We ask that you return the gift card's into the door's mail slot no later than Sunday, Dec.10 so that we can distribute them in a timely fashion.
Additional information about Tom's Door and the Family Resource Center is available next to the red door if you are not familiar with these wonderful organizations and the outreach and positive impact they have in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Sidney Poncelet at 970-309-2393 or sidponcelet@gmail.com. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

RVR members may now bring their leaves and organic waste to the Ranch House parking lot for disposal. Look for the large dumpster towards the back of the parking lot and please be sure to dump your leaves into the dumpster and take your box or bag with you.
We hope to have the dumpster available through the end of next week (potentiality longer dependent on the weather.)

*This service is offered to RVR homeowners only. We ask that you please communicate this to your contractors.

Please turn your vehicles off when collecting your mail at the Ranch House. Many local and state governments have adopted legislation that limits vehicle idling to combat increasing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. The Colorado Revised Statute 42-4-1206, more commonly known as the "puffer" law, allows law enforcement officers across the state to immediately ticket individuals who have left a vehicle running unattended for any period of time. To avoid excess emissions, turn off the ignition!

Burning candles is one of life's simple pleasures. But the vapors and chemicals released into your home can have potentially harmful effects for you and the planet. Most candles are made with paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum. Using fossil fuels to create candles contributes to the already high levels of CO2 in our atmosphere. So look for a candle that says 100% beeswax, soy wax, or coconut wax on the label. And for a scented candle, ensure that the natural fragrance is from sustainably sourced essential oils, and is not a synthetic scent. And finally, when finished with your candle, be sure to re-use or recycle the candle container.
