From the Dean

As we graduate the next generation of engineers and computer scientists, it is important to expose them to world renowned leaders who have made a real difference in the betterment of mankind. Their technical ability and success in the marketplace serve to motivate and inspire. Occasionally though, some of these individuals are also blessed with a philanthropic spirit, which makes them truly iconic mentors. September was a special month. Ratan Tata, the renowned industrialist and philanthropist, visited Clemson as part of the inaugural Global Leaders Forum. He made time during his busy schedule to meet with the Tata Fellows. This group of students were selected by the Tata Trusts to receive financial support to pursue graduate work at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research. This was the first time that the Fellows had an opportunity to meet Tata. All of them were grateful and inspired by this unique opportunity.
And speaking of opportunities I hope that all of you are planning to join us for the CECAS Homecoming on Oct. 26! You can make your reservations here. I hope to see you there!
