Dear Student Services and Enrollment Management Team,
As we close out spring term and look ahead to summer, I wanted to express my sinccere appreciation for all your continued work through this last year. Campus tours will resume on Monday, June 14 and IntroDUCKtion just a few weeks later. I wanted to provide you with some themes to incorporate into your work as we all welcome our incoming students and their families. Obviously, we can focus on these year-round, but I think it is especially critical for incoming students to help build their confidence and create a supportive environment as they make their transition to the University of Oregon. I share more details in the video below, but thought a quick list might be helpful.
- Offer care and consideration for what folks are experiencing.
- Offer reassurance and encourage resilience.
- Be approachable and reduce roadblocks.
- Design opportunities for them to engage with us and act on calls to action.
- Be informative, but brief.
- Demonstrate the quality of the university.
