Meet the J.D. Class of 2026 Hailing from across the country and around the world, 273 individuals arrived on campus last week, bringing a range of life experience with them. A short time ago, they were a chemistry teacher, an airline pilot, a standup comic, a Navy diver, a bioengineer, a professional guitarist, a college student, a mentor to LGBTQ+ youth, and a server at Applebees, among other professional and volunteer roles. But when they walked into the Marillac Hall Auditorium and took their seats for Convocation, they became the St. John’s Law J.D. Class of 2026. We’re so happy to welcome our newest St. John's lawyers. Read the full story online.
Real Estate LL.M. Program Draws Top Talent “These compelling matters need to be given thoughtful consideration, and the L.L.M. program’s intense focus on all aspects of real estate is highly relevant and critical at this juncture,” says Donna-Marie Korth '83CBA, '86L, a partner at Certilman Balin who teaches in the program. “Our students will be able to study and analyze existing and emerging issues, trends, and legislation in order to develop creative solutions. This advanced program will no doubt produce new leaders in the real estate industry who will, in turn, shepherd in positive change and growth in this vitally important field. I look forward to seeing what they will do, and the mark each will leave on our profession.” Korth shares more insights in this story about the new Real Estate LL.M. program.
Give an Hour and Change a Life To mark St. John's Giving Day on 9/26, we're reprising our #IGiveAnHour fundraising campaign.
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Learning By Doing.” We're asking alumni and friends to gift the equivalent of your hourly pay to support one or more of the following Law School initiatives:
- Center for Trial and Appellate Advocacy (Frank S. Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute, Moot Court Honor Society, Dispute Resolution Society)
- Clinical Education
- Public Interest Fellowship Fund
Just 60 minutes of your time can make a lifetime of difference to deserving students, providing impactful opportunities for them to build knowledge and skills hands on.
We need 100 donors to help us reach our fundraising goal. Can we count on you? There's no need to wait. It's quick and easy to give an hour online today! Then, help us spread the word about the campaign through your social networks using the hashtag #IGiveAnHour23.
Thank you!
