Student Leader Charts His Own Course

Sean Purdue is a civil engineering student from Liberty. Purdue is a student ambassador of the Honors Program, the president of the UMKC chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and competes on the school’s Concrete Canoe team.
Purdue says becoming involved in student organizations has helped him understand his leadership style and form friendships.
"I am also happy that I know a lot of the people in my classes. I think it’s very easy to just go to class and leave without making connections, but I’m proud of the connections I’ve made."
