An Evening of Butterflies and “Budding” Connections

Thank you to the 120 Bridges and Tocqueville societies members who joined us on October 19 for a flutter-ific event at the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens! Attendees had the opportunity to network and tour the beautiful butterfly atrium.
Tocqueville Chair Jim Mooney encouraged attendees to give an extra gift towards United Way’s new pilot projects in the areas of access to health care, school readiness and workforce development. We are grateful to those who have already committed to doing this and encourage all Bridges members to consider giving 10 percent more this year towards the Community Impact Fund or one of the new pilot projects.

Save the Date: Bridges Society Literacy for Life Field Trip

Join us as a volunteer chaperone for United Way of the Capital Region’s Bridges Society’s Annual Literacy for Life field trip!
Volunteers will spend the morning paired with a third grade student from a Harrisburg City elementary school. You will go on a scavenger hunt throughout Barnes & Noble and thanks to a sponsorship from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, you will once again be able to help your student select a new book to take home.
We need at least 20 volunteers for each morning so this is a great opportunity to invite a friend or co-worker as a prospect. The link to sign up will go out right after Christmas break.
DATE: January 30, 31 and February 1
WHERE: Barnes & Noble, 58 S. 32nd Street, Camp Hill
