Last Wednesday, former Fort Wayne TV meteorologist Chris Bradley lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, at age 53. A memorial service will be held Tuesday December 11 at King Avenue United Methodist Chuch, 299 King Ave, Columbus, OH 43201. Chris worked for WBNS-TV, which set up a webpage for condolences. Donations should be made to The Chris Bradley Memorial Fund of the Columbus Foundation. The Columbus Dispatch remembered him in an editorial cartoon.

Over the weekend, Federated Media signed on an FM translator for their Standards/WTRC (1340am, Elkhart): Meet 250 watt W270DK (101.9fm, Elkhart). Here's the "Frank 1340" website.
Eastcentral
Brewer Broadcasting's Country/WQLK (96.1fm, Richmond) replaces the syndicated "Big Time with Whitney Allen" with local host Tim Murphy in nights (7pm until Midnight).
Central
Today, Emmis 'Country/WLHK (97.1fm, Shelbyville) welcomes PD Ryan Wild. Mr. Wild last worked as PD at WKTI in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
E.W. Scripps' ABC affiliate WRTV-TV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) evening anchor Ericka Flye exits. Ms. Flye joined RTV6 in March 2000, after anchoring and reporting for The Ohio News Network and WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
Lots of year end moves at Nexstar's CW affiliate/WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis). Let's break them down for you:
After eight years, news anchor Lauren Lowrey exits (with a video), and will join WSMV-TV in Nashville, Tennessee in an anchor role.
Next week Monday (December 17), Randall Newsome will join WISH-TV from Nexstar sister KTVE-TV in the Monroe, Louisiana TV market. Mr. Newsome will join their Daybreak morning newscasts.
Finally, WISH-TV promotes two:
Drew Blair moves from weekends to weekday mornings (Daybreak), alongside Scott Sander. Kylie Conway (on maternity leave) will move into a Daybreak leadership role.
Succeeding Ms. Blair on weekends will be Brenna Donnelly. Ms. Donnelly joined WISH-TV as a reporter in July 2017.
Three years ago, Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Media's WFYI (90.1fm, Indianapolis) created a public health reporting unit, "Side Effects" which delivers content both to WFYI Radio and WFYI-TV (Channel 20, Indianapolis) The Indianapolis-based Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation recently renewed a $600,000 two-year-grant to Side Effects. While based at WFYI Public Media, the Side Effects team continues collaborating with five other public media organizations: Illinois Public Media, KBIA in Columbia, Missouri, St. Louis Public Radio, WNIN (88.3fm, Evansville) and WOSU Public Media in Columbus, Ohio.

IRW tips our cap to weeknight meteorologist Kevin Orpurt for 36 years at Heartland Media's CBS and FOX affiliates/WTHI-TV (Channel 10, Terre Haute). WTHI-TV has CBS on their .1 and FOX on their .2. The station did a celebratory video.
DLC Media's Standards/WAMB (1130am, Brazil) and FM translators W258BA (99.5fm, Terre Haute) and W295CQ (106.9fm, Brazil) all go all Christmas music.
Southcentral
Mitchell Community Broadcast Company's WPHZ (102.5fm, Orleans) goes all Christmas music.
Southwest
Midwest Communications/Evansville Director of Marketing Storm Avery joins Max Media in Norfolk, Virginia as their new Director of Marketing. Ms. Avery joins former Midwest/Evansville OM Rusty James.

December 9: In 1996, WYEZ (96.9fm, Bremen) flipped formats from Beautiful Music to Contemporary Christian as WHPZ.
December 10: In 1956, 1590am in Beech Grove signs on as WGEE. Today, it's WNTS. In 1963, 100.1fm, Bluffton signs on as WCRD. Today, it's WFCV-FM.
December 12: In 1964, 1550am in Crawfordsville signs on as WCVL, and still is. In 2010, Indianapolis engineer Don Payne dies. Age 53.
December 14: In 1949, 1460am in Carmi, Illinois signs on as WROY, and still is (for then-Carmi Broadcasting Co. president Roy Clippinger). In 1963, 800am, Casey, Illinois signs on as WKZI, and still is.
December 15: In 1961, 95.9fm in Franklin signs on as WIFN. Today, it's WFDM. In 2012, former WTLC-FM News Director Gene Slaymaker dies. Age 84.
