QUALITY

Time-Out Audit Compliance

If you work in the OR, you probably already know what a "Time-Out Audit" is. If not, this is a mandatory step in preparation for a surgical case. It is an opportunity for the team to ensure that everything is in order before they get started. Time out audits make us all safer.
What's new? On September 12th, name and role introductions were added as a new component to the audit. CLICK to view our Time-Out Audit report.

FINANCE & GROWTH
Supply Cost Reduction Program

Supply Cost Reduction work will continue in FY2023.
EPSi Cost Accounting Team has developed a Supply Cost Tableau dashboard to measure and track performance to expense goal and change in year over year costs .
The Supply Cost workgroup team was created to oversee this workstream consisting of Finance, Perioperative Services, and Surgeon Leadership.
The team has identified 3 areas with opportunity for improvement:
1) Surgeon Preference Card Review
2) Reduce Supply Wastage
3) Utilization of CPT codes with greatest opportunity
If interested in going through a review of your Service’s Supply Cost data and performance on the dashboard, please contact Dr. John Pope or Jeremy Willis.

Keep On Your Radar

OR Renovation Construction To Begin  January 2023
10 of our existing operating rooms have been designed and approved for renovation! Each room has been evaluated and priortized based on the current state of the infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, IT, and equipment/technology needs. The OR Renovations Committee has been working hard behind the scenes to plan for case flow changes as operating rooms close for work.
John Pope, MD, Perioperative Surgical Director of Business Operations is working with the Surgical Chiefs and surgery schedulers to identify cases eligible to go to our offsite pediatric surgery facilities. Please direct any questions around block time and room closures to your service chief.
