Champlain College Alumni Relations
On Friday, August 22nd, Champlain College welcomed 662 first-year and 70 transfer  students to campus – the largest incoming class to date. After moving into the residence halls, enjoying a family-style BBQ, and a semi-rainy welcome from President Donald J. Laackman, the 137th Champlain College Convocation was convened. North Carolina Event
Join Champlain College on Saturday, September 6th for a morning of culture and conversation at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, NC!
We will start the morning with a private, guided tour of 'The Story of North Carolina', which opened in 2011 to rave reviews. This permanent exhibit traces life in North Carolina from its earliest inhabitants through the 20th century. For complete details and registration information visit the event's Facebook page. 
Breakfast in CT
Champlain College will be traveling to Connecticut  and would like to treat you to breakfast! Join us on Tuesday, September 9th in Greenwich, CT or  Wednesday, September 10th in New Haven, CT.  Meet and network with fellow alumni, hear the latest news from Champlain, and reconnect with your alma mater.

Carly Brown '14 of Champlain College's Teacher Apprenticeship Program (TAP), has received the 2014 Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Teaching Fellowship. She was selected from a pool of more than 180 applicants, and is one of 32 exceptionally talented, early career science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) teachers to be awarded a fellowship.
MakerSpace
Maker Faire
Shelburne Farms will host the Champlain Mini Maker Faire October 4th-5th at the Coach Barn, a beautiful late 1900 barn with stables, a courtyard, and open indoor spaces adjacent to Lake Champlain. Click here for full details. 
A Maker Faire brings together families and individuals to celebrate the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset and showcase all kinds of incredible projects. At Maker Faire, you’ll find arts and crafts, science and engineering, food and music, fire and water but what makes this event special is that all these interesting projects and smart, creative people belong together. Tedxteen
In honor of World Humanitarian Day, Mahmoud Jabari '15 (Communications) gave a #TEDxTeen talk, "Bringing Peace with More Reporting." Mahmoud said, "I didn’t know the meaning of politically correct… I had no idea how great an impact of raising voices would have on me and my peers."
