Slow Down, Wildlife Calls RVR Home Too |
Sadly, one of our neighborhood foxes was recently struck and killed by a vehicle. It's a heartbreaking reminder that RVR is home to many wild animals that often cross our roads, especially during the early morning and evening hours.
Please help protect wildlife, and your neighbors, by observing the 20-mph speed limit throughout the community and staying alert while driving. A few extra seconds can make all the difference.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions |
Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are in effect for the Town of Carbondale and surrounding areas due to increased fire danger. These restrictions prohibit activities that could spark a wildfire and are intended to help protect our community, public lands, and emergency responders.
Beyond following the current Stage 2 Fire Restrictions, homeowners can also help reduce wildfire risk by taking a few simple steps around the home:
- Turn off heat tape when it is no longer needed.
- Clear leaves and debris from gutters and rooflines.
- Keep combustible materials away from your home's foundation.
Small maintenance tasks can make a big difference in protecting your home and our community.

Firewise Tip: Keep Embers Out of Your Attic |
One of the easiest and most effective home-hardening steps is adding 1/8-inch fire-resistant metal screening to attic vents. Most homes have some mesh screening, but not all have screening small enough to help keep wind-driven wildfire embers out of the attic, which is a major ignition risk.
This upgrade is recommended by fire-safety experts, including the Carbondale Fire Department and the Roaring Fork Wildfire Collaborative, as an important step toward making homes more fire resilient.
| |
For information, please contact governance@rvrma.org. We are happy to share information, and we can also share the names of contractors that some of your neighbors may have used. This work is being completed at the Ranch House. Please remember that dryer vents require unrestricted airflow for safe operation, screening them with 1/8 screening can increase your fire risk!

| RVR is a community that loves the outdoors, and many residents enjoy boats, campers, trailers, and other recreational vehicles. As a friendly reminder, we'd like to highlight the Association's parking requirements.
Section 3.16 of the Second Amendment to the RVR Master Declaration says that boats, trailers, motor homes, campers, recreational vehicles, golf carts, commercial vehicles, and other similar vehicles may not be parked or stored on Lots, Units, or the Master Common Areas, except for temporary loading and unloading during daylight hours.
If you currently have a recreational vehicle or similar item parked in the community that does not comply with these requirements, we kindly ask that you relocate it to an appropriate storage location.

Town of Carbondale Water Restrictions |
To help protect local water supplies during dry summer conditions, the Town of Carbondale has implemented water restrictions effective immediately.
Residents of River Valley Ranch, who primarily use ditch water for irrigation, are encouraged to conserve water and prepare for potential supply limitations later this summer.
An important reminder, RVR and the golf course share the same water system, and our water agreement is designed to ensure adequate water pressure at all times. Under this agreement, RVR homeowners may irrigate between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., while the golf course waters between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
| |
RVR residents can help conserve water by:
- Following the same odd/even watering schedule whenever practical.
- Preparing for potential ditch water supply limitations later this summer.
