| New Playground Equipment for 2-5 Year Olds at Ranch HouseA small playground structure for 2-5 year olds was added to the playground at the Ranch House. The new structure matches the existing equipment and features two log steppers and a curved balance beam. The equipment is a licensing requirement for the new preschool at the Ranch House. It was paid for out of the Youth Services Fund through the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District.

| 2017 Metro District Draft Budget Available for Review Online
The 2017 Draft Budget for the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District is now available for review. Please click on the button below to view it online. Fall Brings Greater Risk to Colorado Motorists and Wildlife
As November begins and daylight saving time ends (Nov. 6), Colorado motorists face a higher risk of being involved in a wildlife-related accident. According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, November sees more car accidents involving wildlife than any other month. While some collisions may be unavoidable, motorists can reduce the likelihood of an accident by taking precautions. Please see the Ranger Field Notes article for tips on fall motor vehicle safety.

Jeffco Sheriff's Drug Take-Back Day
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is hosting a Drug Take-Back Day to provide an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. The next local Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dakota Ridge High School, 13399 W. Coal Mine Ave. Event details:
- The program is anonymous.
- Prescription and over-the-counter solid dosage medications (tablets and capsules) are accepted.
- Intravenous solutions, injectables, needles and oxygen containers will not be accepted.
- Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative.
- The prescriptions should be removed from the original containers and placed in a plastic bag prior to drop off.
